Each social media platform goes through phases of popularity. While Facebook isn’t the same as it was when it launched in the early 2000s, it remains one of the most used social media platforms. Facebook has 2.93 billion monthly active users – that’s 36.7% of the world’s population!
That means if you’re not using Facebook, you’re probably missing out on a huge way to connect with your audience. Understanding how to best use Facebook will allow you to get the most out of your posts. Here are our 5 tips to step up your Facebook game.
Quality over quantity
There is no need to flood your followers’ timelines or exhaust your creative juices.
Around 2-3 weekly posts tends to be the sweet spot. Create a content calendar and plan out at least two months of posts in order to ensure diversity and quality.
Some experts will tell you to post every day, but unless your brand is as well-known as Nike or Whole Foods, there’s usually no actual reason to post every day! Our perspective: it’s better to have 2 thought-out, captivating posts than 10 mediocre posts.
A picture is worth a thousand words
We ALWAYS recommend including a graphic or image in your posts. Yes, every. single. one.
A related image or article preview is a great way to engage your audience and continue reading. (And Facebook auto-generates those when you paste a link into the post, so you don’t have to do anything extra.) We found that posts with images or videos are the most engaging across social platforms.

Proofread, Proofread, Proofread
Nothing will reduce your credibility quite like a grammar mistake!
Make sure to triple-check your content for any missing commas, spelling errors, etc. A well-written post is the key to your social media success.
Tip: Read posts to yourself out loud to catch any missed mistakes before clicking “Publish”
Track your progress
Analytics are your best friend. And the only tangible way to track progress.
Facebook (tries to) make it easy with its insights page. Although they’re constantly making changes and updates that aren’t always intuitive, analytics tools allow you to track your progress as you are growing your social media accounts.
Taking a monthly inventory helps you to understand what content works for you and what does not. Using these insights you can further grow your social media but tailor your content accordingly.

Give your page a boost
Putting a little money behind your social media can make a big difference.
You can even tailor where your post will be boosted in order to maximize your reach. It puts your post on the timelines of users who do not yet follow your social accounts.
