Whip Clients + The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

Each September, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meets to discuss pressing global issues. Even COVID won’t stop change-makers from working on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the UN’s benchmarks to end extreme poverty, reduce inequality, and protect the planet by 2030.

Reaching the SDGs is a huge global effort that requires everyone to play a part: from individuals to corporates to NGOs. As an agency that focuses on supporting nonprofits and companies with a social impact focus, we’re passionate about the work being done around the globe to achieve the SDGs — especially when our clients are front and center!

Some of these clients include HBBF, The Marconi Society, ANHE, and The United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign.

UNGA kicked off this month to address some of the biggest problems facing our world. For a full guide to UNGA, check out the United Nations Foundation’s resource here.

Happy Babies Bright Futures (HBBF) | Good Health and Well-Being

Mission: HBBF is an alliance that works to ensure that future generations have the brain power to learn, achieve and prosper.

HBBF’s work ranges from advocacy to education and they have resources for parents in every stage of their child’s life. Recently, the organization’s focus has been the removal of arsenic from baby cereal (yes, the FDA allows that — how crazy!).

Without children’s health, our world truly cannot see a bright future. HBBF’s contributions to SDG #3 gives the next generation of babies the opportunity to have a healthy and impactful future with no limits.

Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE) | Climate Action

Mission: Promoting healthy people and healthy environments by educating and leading the nursing profession, advancing research, incorporating evidence-based practice, and influencing policy.

The climate crisis is now, and ANHE sees the urgency to act. This is a group of nursing professionals with a drive to raise awareness of the connection between public health and the environment.

Nurses are consistently voted the number one trusted group of professionals giving them an outstanding platform to educate their communities. Not only does ANHE work to inspire and educate the community but also other nurses. They have created educational resources, conducted extensive research, influenced policy, all while being practicing nurses.

This is an action driven organization whole-heartedly committed to stopping climate change in its tracks.

Nothing but Nets | Good Health and Well-Being

Mission: Nothing But Nets is a global grassroots campaign to raise awareness, funds, and voices to fight malaria.

Beyond providing bed nets, Nothing But Nets, provides testing, treatments, sprays and vaccines. Even though a child dies from malaria every 2 minutes, malaria is entirely preventable.

In the last decade malaria cases have decreased by more than 50%. The work being done to combat this disease is ensuring a better future for the next generation — and is a key building block to the other SDGs like gender equality, quality education, and more.

The Marconi Society | Quality Education, Reducing Inequalities

Mission: The Marconi Society’s mission is to celebrate, inspire, and connect individuals building tomorrow’s technologies in service of a digitally inclusive world. That plays a key role in achieving the sustainable development goals.

In the digital age, quality education often relies on quality technology.  The Marconi Society’s dedication to digital inclusivity is a stepping stone to reduced inequalities and quality education for all.

To achieve this, the Marconi Society works with inventors, scholars, and young people to develop the technologies of tomorrow. Digital inclusivity has the opportunity to bridge the gap between communities all over the world.

We are so proud of the work our clients do every day. This September, in honor of UNGA, find an organization that works on the SDG that you care most about, and donate, volunteer, or share their social media content to raise awareness.

The world needs do-gooders now more than ever!
